For the new incoming young women (girls who are about to turn 12), we made Value Color flag buntings (including gold for the new value- VIRTUE) to present to them at New Beginnings tomorrow. It was a lot of cutting and sewing, but it was really simple to do. The young women helped me put the iron on transfers on each flag and then affix the flags in the correct order to the binding strip. Other than the purple INTEGRITY flag (we should have used iron on transfer paper for dark fabrics), we were all really happy with the way they turned out!
I am making another one to have on display in the young women's room at the church. I think I might also make a valentines flag banner for my mantel, a pink and brown one for the girls' room, and then maybe a happy birthday banner?! Oh, the possibilities!

What I great idea! I have a ton of fabric that would be great for this type of thing. I think I might make a happy birthday one too:)
I love the way your banner turned out. I've been planning on making one for an upcoming baby shower I'm hosting. I figured that I should make one out of gender neutral fabric so I can re-use it for subsequent showers. And it's a great way to re-purpose leftover fabric.
What a cute idea! I love it!
This is such a cute idea! I wish I would have thought about it before our new beginnings next week. I suppose it's a little too late for that...but I could definitely do this for future activities! Thanks for sharing your ideas!
