TWO months old

Emerson is 2 months old already. It was rough going there for a while, but we are doing better and finally getting into the swing of things. Emerson has pushed through the "rashy, gassy, fussy" stage and emerged a happy, smiley, (fairly) easy going baby on the other side.

We had her 2 month check yesterday and she is doing great. She had her first round of shots- I think the other 2 girls were more traumatized by it than Emerson was.

She is holding steady in the 50th percentile for height at 22 1/2 inches and has dropped a little from 80th percentile to 75th percentile in weight (11 lbs. 14 oz.). If she follows the trend the other 2 have set, she will continue to decline and be around the 5th percentile by 6 months. That's just how we roll.

Also staying true to the trend our girls have established, Emerson has ceased having dirty diapers. We are on day 5 now (Avery went over 2 weeks at this age). She was doing so well in that area that I thought that problem had skipped her... I was hoping. But, we know the drill. We already have a large stockpile of Miralax on hand for the other 2.

Straying from the other girls, I am thinking, hoping, praying that she is going to keep her blue eyes. By this point, Avery and Finley already had dark, dark brown eyes. Emerson's eyes are not just the gray color that most babies are born with, but they actually have the COLOR blue to them. Dark hair with blue eyes is my most FAVORITE combo. The doctor kind of dashed my hopes on that yesterday and said that they can change up to the 1 year mark and that Emerson already has brown flecks in there- in his educated guess they will go completely brown. For now her eyes are blue and so the dream lives on.
